FINAL: Buffalo Beats Kent State 41-21

The Buffalo Bulls move into first place in the MAC East and improve to 6-2 on the season after beating Kent State 41-21 Saturday.

The Bulls cruised to their sixth straight victory on the back of running back Bo Oliver, who trounced the Golden Flashes banged up defense for 185 yards and four touchdowns. Buffalo had a commanding 20-7 lead at halftime, and came out firing in the second half. Oliver scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the second half, once on a 38-yard run. The two scores give him 28 unanswered points. Kent State responded with a 17-yard touchdown run by Dri Archer and then 18-yard pass by Colin Reardon to Tyshon Goode late in the third and early in the fourth quarters respectively.

Buffalo responded by tacking on a sixth and final touchdown 29 seconds later on a 30-yard pass from Joe Licata to Devon Hughes. Licata finished with 285 yards and two scores through the air as Buffalo beat up on the reigning MAC East champs from both sides.

The Bulls defense, led by Khalil Mack, stifled the Flashes, holding them to 120 yards on the ground. Archer was a non-factor in the game, touching the ball just eight times. Redshirt freshman quarterback Reardon was flustered by the Bulls pressure, throwing two picks along with his one touchdown and 260 yards passing.
