The Mid-American Conference announced its All-MAC teams today and the Northern Illinois Huskies dominated the awards. NIU quarterback Jordan Lynch was named All-MAC first team quarterback for the second consecutive year and also reigned in his second MAC Offensive Player of the Year award.
Joining Lynch on the All-MAC first team was Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack. Mack was named to the first team for the third consecutive year. The Bulls senior set the all time NCAA record for forced fumbles in a career with 16.
Roosevelt Nix of Kent State was named to his fourth All-MAC first team. The defensive end joins Davonte Shannon of Buffalo, punter Dave Zastudil of Ohio, defensive back Barry Church of Toledo, and quarterback Brian McClure of Bowling Green as the only athletes to accomplish this feat.
The Huskies six first team selections were followed by Buffalo with five and Toledo and Ball State with four each. Across all three teams, the Cardinals led the conference with 15 selections, followed by Toledo with 11, and Bowling Green and Northern Illinois with ten each.
