It's time for the non-Power Five Conference that every football fan and pundit has been looking forward to: the Northern Illinois Huskies (10-2, 7-1 MAC) vs. the Marshall Thundering Herd (11-1, 7-1 C*USA) in the 2014 Boca Raton Bowl.
Northern Illinois won the stacked MAC West, and made a statement in the MAC Championship. blowing out Bowling Green by double digits, while hanging 50 on the Falcons. Marshall, meanwhile, flirted with an undefeated record and a potential New Year's Six Bowl berth until their wacky loss to Western Kentucky on the last game of the regular season. Marshall went on to take care of Louisiana Tech in their championship game.
