After a week of keeping fans guessing and re-guessing, the Northern Illinois Huskies have concluded Schedulepalooza with the announcement that the Maryland Terrapins will be the first ever B1G team to grace Huskie Stadium. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait seven years to see it.
NIU will play at Bryd Stadium in Maryland on Sept. 12, 2020 and the following year, on Sept. 25, 2021, the Terrapins will make the journey up to DeKalb.
Although Maryland will be the first B1G team to come to Huskie Stadium, it will not be the first time they have played in DeKalb. Back in 2003, the Huskies hosted, and stunned, #15 Maryland (an ACC member at the time) 20-13 in overtime.
The Huskies and Terrapins have played two other times (1996 and 2004), with Maryland winning both games.
The last four days have seen the Huskies reveal series against four big name teams. NIU announced earlier this week that they would play San Diego State in 2016 and 2017, BYU in 2018 and 2020, and Utah in 2018 and 2019.
