And Ohio Bobcats fans have a new starting quarterback.

Redshirt junior Derrius Vick has won the job out of fall camp and will be the starter under center in Week 1. Vick was in a tight battle with redshirt sophomore JD Sprague all spring and summer, but has more experience than Sprague and apparently separated himself enough to earn the gig.
Vick has been groomed for this role for the past two seasons, sitting behind Tyler Tettleton, and getting various amounts of playing time, including a start in 2012. He's a much more athletic quarterback than Tettleton was, and will likely rely more on his legs in the Bobcats offense this fall.
