The Northern Illinois Huskies open their 2014 season at home tonight when they take on FCS opponent Presbyterian. The Huskies embark on life after Jordan Lynch and resume the defense of their nations-best home winning streak. NIU has currently won 26 consecutive home games.
Lynch and Jimmie Ward are both gone, playing in the NFL right now. But The Huskies do return a ridiculous amount of talent on both sides of the ball, and get Akeem Daniels back from injury after he missed all of 2013. Cameron Stingily is out with an undisclosed injury, so it'll be key for the Huskies to get the ground game figured out without both of their 1,000+ yard rushers from a season ago.
WHEN: Thursday, Aug. 28, 7 p.m. ET.
WHERE: Huskie Stadium, DeKalb, Illinois.
STREAMING: This game will not be televised, but it will be streamed live on ESPN3 and WatchESPN. A Valid cable subscription is required.
RADIO: Huskies fans can listen to the game live via WLBK 1360 AM in DeKalb, and WSCR 670 AM in Chicago, or online at NIUHuskies.com.
