Thee Akron Zips kick off their quest for bowl eligibility tonight when they welcome the Howard Bison into Infocision Stadium. Earlier this week Akron released its game notes, including a look at tonight's depth chart.
The big news here is that first-year transfer Tommy Brown is starting at left tackle for the Zips. Brown transferred to Akron from Ohio State in early August. He's a junior. Brown gives Akron a huge presence to protect second-year starting quarterback Kyle Pohl's blind side.
On defense. another former Buckeye is starting at defensive tackle for the Zips. Se'Von Pittman transferred to the Zips in the summer fo 2013 after sitting out his true freshman season at OSU in 2012. He was still required to sit out all of 2013, so despite never seeing action at the collegiate level, Pittman only has three years of eligibility left.
