Year two of the P.J. Fleck era begins today when Western Michigan heads down to Indiana to take on the Purdue Boilermakers. WMU is coming off a rough 1-11 season in their first year under Fleck. Purdue is also coming off of a rough first year under head coach Darrell Hazell, formerly of Kent State, in which they went 1-11, including 0-8 in the Big Ten.
This will mark the fourth time these two programs have ever faced off on the gridiron, with Purdue holding a 3-0 advantage. The last time these two teams played was in the 2011 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl in Detroit, which Purdue won 37-32.
