Miami RedHawks vs. Marshall Thundering Herd: Game Time, TV Schedule, Radio, Streaming and More

Jamie Sabau

Year one of the Chuck Martin era kicks off this afternoon from Yager Stadium in Oxford, Ohio when the Miami RedHawks welcome the Marshall Thundering Herd to town. Miami is coming off one of its worst seasons ever, a year in which the team went 0-12 and fired head coach Don Treadwell partway through the season. The Thundering Herd return most of the pieces of a team that went 10-4 in 2013, including 7-1 in Conference USA and a 31-20 win over Maryland in the 2013 Military Bowl.

The RedHawks are in the beginning stages of what will likely e a long, and slow rebuilding process under Martin. Miami is breaking in a new quarterback, many new offensive lineman, and quite a few pieces overall. Marshall, on the other hand, returns Heisman dark horse candidate Rakeem Cato, and enough firepower to make the Thunder Herd a candidate to go undefeated this fall.

Miami holds the all-time series lead 30-11-1, but has lost the past two matchups. Marshall spent two long stints as a conference foe of Miami, when they were in the MAC. Both programs are among the most successful schools outside a major college football conference, having all-time winning percentages of .608 (Miami) and .512 (Marshall) respectively.
