Missouri Tigers at Toledo Rockets Game To air On ESPN

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Toledo Rockets' Week 2 matchup vs. the No. 24 Missouri Tigers has been picked up by ESPN. The noon matchup, scheduled to take place on Sat., Sept. 6 from Toledo, Ohio's Glass Bowl will air live on the Worldwide Leader's main broadcast vertical.

The Toledo Rockets are coming off a 54-20 win over the No. 4 FCS school in the nation, New Hampshire. Missouri is coming off a 38-18 win over FCS South Dakota. The two teams have faced each other once before, in 2013 in Columbia, Missouri. The Tigers beat the Rockets 38-23, despite the Rockets actually out-gaining the SEC team.

Toledo actually come within a point with 4:22 to go in the third quarter when Alonzo Russell hauled in a 41-yard touchdown pass from Terrance Owens to bring the score to 24-23 Missouri. But Missouri quarterback James Franklin orchestrated two successful drives to promptly give the Tigers the 38-23 lead with more than 10 minutes left in the game. Three costly interceptions from Owens didn't help Toledo's chances.

Saturday's game will be one of eight MAC games carried on national TV. Buffalo at Army (CBS Sports Network), CMU at Purdue (ESPNews), Akron at Penn State (ABC or ESPN2), Ball State at Iowa (ESPN2), NIU at Northwestern (Big Ten Network), Ohio at Kentucky (ESPNU) and EMU at Florida (SEC Network).
