Akron Zips at Penn State Nittany Lions: Game Time, Tv Schedule, Streaming, Radio and More

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Fresh off a season-opening shutout win against Howard, Akron hits the road in Week 2 to face a Penn State squad off to a good start under first-year head coach James Franklin. Last week Penn State beat UCF in Ireland, 26-24 behind a strong performance from Christian Hackenberg.

Today Akron quarterback Kyle Pohl will go head to head with Hackenberg in a battle of quarterbacks. The Zips' offense, led by Pohl, looked fantastic in Week 1, but that was against an FCS foe. Akron has now won four straight game dating back to last season and the offense will hope to keep that streak alive and give Akron its first road opening win since 1998 and its first 2-0 start to the season since 1993.

Akron's defense will need to play aggressive and get after Hackenberg, and on offense, Akron will need to get the running game more involved if they hope to notch their first win ever against Penn State. The Nittany Lions lead the all-time series 4-0.
