Ohio Bobcats linebacker Quentin Poling arrested

Quetin Poling, the leading tackler for the Ohio Bobcats last season, was arrested over the weekend.

Ohio Bobcats linebacker Quentin Poling was arrested by the Athens Police Department over the weekend after being involved in an altercation over the weekend. Poling, a redshirt freshman, was arrested around 2 a.m. last night outside of Courtside Pizza, a local bar, along with another man, Jeffery Stein. Poling, 20, is under the legal drinking age.

According to the police report, Athens PD offers were on patrol round 1:50 a.m. early Sunday morning and stopped due a "large crowd" forming outside of Courtside. One of the men, who was not identified by name in the police report, tried to flee the scene. While questioning said subject, another man, who was listed as "obviously intoxicated" the report, tried to enter Courtside shirtless and was later identified as being involved in the fight.

Both Poling and Stein were taken into custody and charged with unspecified crimes. Poling led the Bobcats in tackles last year with 89 and also recorded five sacks.

Representatives from the Ohio Athletic Department declined to comment on Poling's arrest at this time.
