Travis Greene becomes all-time leading rusher in Bowling Green Falcons football history

Travis Greene passes Dave Preston as all-time rushing leader for Bowling Green.

Marc Lebryk-USA TODAY Sports

On his first carry of his final game at Doyt Perry Stadium, Travis Greene has become the all-time career rushing leader in school history -- a record that stood for 39 years.

Coming in as a wide receiver, converted to running back under then head coach Dave Clawson, Greene has had three great years as the starting running back for the Bowling Green Falcons. In 2013, Greene had a breakout season as a redshirt-sophomore with nine 100-yard games, the most in school history for a single season.

After finishing his first full-season with 1,594 yards, Greene finished the 2014 season with 949 yards and has picked up 866 rushing yards through the first 10 games of the season. Entering the game against Toledo Rockets, Greene was only four yards shy of breaking Dave Preston's school record of 3,423 career rushing yards (1973-'76).
