Daniel Braverman declares for NFL Draft

The junior made headlines as one of the nation's most prolific receivers as a complimentary piece to Corey Davis.

After a junior year that saw Daniel Braverman put up top 10 receiving stats in the nation, the junior from Miramar, Florida has declared for the 2016 NFL Draft.

The move is largely unexpected, as it was fellow wideout Corey Davis, not Braverman, that was expected to declare for the draft.  Braverman was widely assumed to be coming back to Kalamazoo to finish his senior year as a potential no. 1 receiver in case Davis left, or as the security blanket option for Zach Terrell if both receivers stayed, though all indications are saying Davis will most likely return.

Braverman was a rather accomplished receiver at Western Michigan, enjoying a great amount of success in PJ Fleck's offensive system, which was reliant on route-running efficiency and athleticism, which are parts of the game where Braverman excels. Over his career as a Bronco, Braverman had 212 receptions, 2,499 yards, and 19 touchdowns. This past season was his best one yet, and likely why he is declaring early; Braverman had 108 receptions, 1,367 yards, and 13 touchdowns this season as a secondary option. Those numbers placed him at eighth in receiving yards in the nation, and tied for second in the league in receptions with Middle Tennessee's Richie James.

Braverman was a First Team All-MAC honoree this season after gaining Third Team All-MAC honors in 2014, and was also named a Distinguished Scholar-Athlete for 2015.

With Braverman being an unexpected declaration, most NFL scouting websites don't have complete profiles. However, don't be surprised if he goes the route of Julian Edelman or Danny AMendola and be a Day 2 or 3 pick that finds an immediate impact with the right team, as Braverman has shown an advanced knowledge of the nuances of the receiver position.
