REPORT: Former Texas Tech quarterback transfer now transfers from Bowling Green

Quarterback Clayton Nicholas originally transferred from Texas Tech to Bowling Green, but will now be transferring again.

Per Jordan Strack's sources, quarterback prospect Clayton Nicholas will transfer from Bowling Green after not winning the starting quarterback position over Matt Johnson.

Nicholas was one of the transfers to come to BGSU once they hired Dino Babers as the Falcons' new head coach. A redshirt freshman on the Texas Tech Red Raiders staff in 2013, he was a very highly-touted prospect and brought a lot of excitement to the program's future.

Six months after Nicholas transferred to BGSU, they also received another high-level prospect in wide receiver Robbie Rhodes. Rhodes is a 5-star prospect that originally signed his NLI with the Baylor Bears.

Matt Johnson's job as the starting QB seems to be most secure now after missing basically all of last season. Entering his fourth season, Johnson is 101 yards away from the 4,000 passing yard milestone. In 2013, he had 25 touchdown passes and played a huge role in upsetting the Northern Illinois Huskies in the MAC Championship Game in Detroit.
