DETROIT-- The MAC has released its preseason football poll an hour before MAC Media Day at Ford Field officially kicked off. Like the Hustle Belt preseason poll, Bowling Green and Toledo are both picked to win the East and West divisions respectively.
The Falcons received 160 points and an overwhelming 18 first place votes while with Ohio and Akron both tied with 118 points. The Bobcats received one first place vote while Akron received two. UMass came in fourth with 113 points, but earned three first place votes with Buffalo, Miami and Kent State all coming in behind them.
In the West, Toledo received 11 first place votes with 121 points in total. Western Michigan, 120 points, earned eight first place votes with Northern Illinois coming in at third with 113 points and four first place votes. After them is a steep drop off with Ball State (66 points), followed by Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan coming in behind them.
Central Michigan received a first place vote. Go figure.
