The Akron Zips have pretty much gotten off to a start that was expected; 1-2 with losses at Oklahoma and at home against Pitt as well as a win over FCS opponent Savannah State. The only issue is that the offense is still finding its rhythm. It was expected that the new run oriented offense might take a couple of weeks to begin to work out, but a couple of poor performances to open up the season were very concerning. The hope is that an easy week three win gave the players some confidence heading toward MAC play. Tommy Woodson will make his third career start at quarterback for the Zips after Tra'Von Chapman started the first three games. Still expect both quarterbacks to play, though.
The Louisiana Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns are coming off of a week three bye after a win over Northwestern State in week two, and a close loss at Kentucky to open up the season. Life beyond quarterback Terrance Broadway has been short so far, but Brooks Haack has shown that he could be able to continue the Ragin' Cajun tradition of a trip to the New Orleans bowl in December.

Players To Watch
Akron QB Tommy Woodson: Woodson makes this list for the second week in a row thanks to a strong performance against Savannah State last week, throwing 12-20 for 207 yards with a touchdown and a pick. He's dropped about thirty pounds since last year and has the ability to run and throw well--a combination perfect for Akron's new offense.
Akron WR Anthony Young: The track star Indiana transfer from Lakewood St. Edward made 2 catches for 81 yards in the rout of Savannah State. He displayed his ability to run with the ball on a 53-yard catch on the first drive, and showed some nice hands on a diving catch later on. Akron needs playmakers to step up, and Young could be a surprising one.
Louisiana RB Elijah McGuire: McGuire is one of the Cajuns' most experienced players and he's the leader of the dynamic rushing attack. His 248 yards and 5 touchdowns this season have been added to already impressive career totals, as he is only a junior.
Louisiana QB Brooks Haack: If Akron can stuff the Louisiana rushing attack, the Cajuns will be forced to air it out. Haack has completed 64% of his passes this year, but his TD/INT ratio is 0/2. It's a short sample size, but it could be something to keep an eye on.
