Sneakily this was one of the more terrific women's basketball matchups, with Akron looking good but YSU has a couple impressive wins of their own, including a 20-point win at Miami and a victory against Pitt.
Akron had trouble keeping the ball on their side of the court, turning it over 21 times compared to the Penguins' eight. Youngstown State led for most of the game despite the Zips shooting 49 percent from the floor. Sina King was great with 14 points on eight shots and brought down 11 rebounds. Hanna Luburgh chipped in with 19 points and six rebounds, and Carly Young added 16 points and eight rebounds.
Akron drops to 8-3 and will have the rest of the year off, getting back in action with a trip to Chicago State on January 3.
