Well ... this is surprising. This team's been incredible for years and it's still a stunning result. BGSU trademarks themselves on their defense, but not only beating a ranked/unbeaten team, but holding them to under HALF their season scoring average? And their previous season low was 60 points vs. Michigan State? That's beyond yeomanlike. Dayton shot just 25 percent from the floor, including a mere four field goals, 10 turnovers and 15 points in the second half.
Alexis Rogers had another tremendous game for BGSU on both sides: 20 points, 10 rebounds and six steals. Jillian Halfhil netted 15 points and nine rebounds and Chrissy Steffen joined the 1000-point club with her 16 points and seven rebounds.
Through all this, Curt Miller tweeted a couple of platitudes for his former team, remembering the 69-38 plastering that Dayton gave the Falcons in last year's season opener. Pretty cool to see that he still cares about the program.
Bowling Green is now 9-3 on the year, winners of six straight, and finish their OOC season on Friday against UCF.
