We are into week two of MAC play, and multiple players have stepped up their game to impress the masses. It's #MACtion people! Now let's take a look at who owned the hardwood in week 2 of MAC play.
Mid-American Conference Eastern Division Division Player of The Week
Rachel Tecca, Akron Zips (Forward, Senior)
The reigning MAC player of the year, Tecca entered 2014 playing some of the best ball of her life. In the last week, she scored 30 and pulled down nine more boards in a 109-83 loss to Central Michigan, then put up 22 points in an 81-65 loss to Bowling Green (and grabbed nine boards) on Sunday. In spite of losing both of this week's games, Tecca managed to keep both contests from becoming laughers while slightly upping her season statistics to 24.1 ppg and 8.6 rebounds a game.
Akron and Tecca have an opportunity to improve on their 7-7 record when they face off with Miami (OH) on Wednesday and Kent State on Saturday
Mid-American Conference Western Division Player of The Week
Crystal Bradford, Central Michigan Chippewas (Junior, Guard)
She may have just won the award a week ago, but Crystal Bradford goes into every week with a more than high chance of taking home POTW honors. In an 109 explosion against Akron, Bradford netted 15 points and collected 12 rebounds. Then in a Sunday game with Buffalo, Bradford had her first career triple-double scoring 19 points, pulling down 16 rebounds and dishing out 11 assists in an 82-68 victory. Bradford became just the fourth player in school history to record a triple-double according to @CMUWBBALL.
CMU, who has faced a tough early season schedule, moved to 3-0 in the MAC with this week's victories and has a chance to gain control of the MAC with Wednesday and Sunday contests against Northern Illinois and Bowling Green.
Mid-American Conference Freshman of The Week
Quiera Lampkins, Ohio Bobcats (Freshman, Guard)
Quiera Lampkins lit up the Convocation Center in back-to-back games, scoring 24 against rival Miami (OH) and 19 against Western Michigan, while also totaling four steals. The young frosh out of Gahanna Lincoln High School has proved to be quite valuable for Ohio providing a quick slasher on the offensive end while also contributing immensely on the defensive end with her active hands. Lampkins is now averaging 10.4 points a game and is second on the team in rebounding with 5.4 a game, while also leading the team at two steals a game.
Ohio and Lampkins have a chance to improve on their 2-1 MAC record with games against at Kent State on Wednesday, and at home vs Ball State on Saturday.
