Mid-American Conference Eastern Division Player of The Week

Jillian Halfhill, Bowling Green Falcons (Senior, Guard)

The Bowling Green Falcons women's basketball team certainly does not want for talent, and if you're not a MAC women's basketball fan, you might not know the half of it. Halfhill posted 21 points, which included four 3-pointers. She also posted three steals while playing a team-high 37 minutes in the Falcons' 61-56 road victory at Eastern Michigan University. Halfhill and inside presence Alexis Rogers have complimented each other greatly, combining to be the top two scorers on the team and 10th and 11th in the MAC respectively in points per game in conference play coming in to Saturday's games. She also is a solid defender on the best defensive team in the MAC. Halfhill's play will be crucial down the stretch as the Falcons seek a MAC title in Cleveland.

BG has a chance to pull into a first-place tie in terms of overall record in conference play as they play host to leaders Central Michigan led by Crystal Bradford and Jas'Mine Bracey. That's on Wednesday, and then the Falcons look to not let down when they travel to Buffalo on Sunday.

Mid-American Conference Western Division Player of The Week

Niki DiGuilio, Central Michigan Chippewas (Senior, Guard)

Possibly the best pure shooter in the Mid-American Conference, DiGuilio put on a show in CMU's 88-47 victory over Miami on Saturday. She was torrid from beyond the arc as usual, hitting 8-of-12 from downtown for all of her 24 points. DiGuilio has hit 39 3-pointers in MAC play, easily the best in the conference. She also plays the third most minutes per game in the MAC, and having her on the court at all times opens things up for Chippewas scorers as she draws the attention of opposing defenders.

DiGuilio and CMU travel to Bowling Green on Wednesday, and a win would preserve the Chippewas undefeated MAC record. On Saturday, they travel to DeKalb to take on the Northern Illinois Huskies.

Miid-American Conference Freshman of the Week

Alexus Malone, Buffalo Bulls (Freshman, Forward)

In a week in which all MAC women's basketball teams played just one game (all on Saturday) Alexus Malone made the best of nearly a week off from games. Malone put up an impressive stat line of 20 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and six steals. Her defensive contributions were every bit as important as her offensive performance. Malone hit on 6-of-8 shot attempts and knocked down 8-of10 from the charity stripe. Her emergence has meant a great deal in complimenting Buffalo players like Mackenzie Loesing, Christa Baccas, and Kristen Sharkey.

The Bulls travel Wednesday to take on a Kent State squad that just earned its second MAC victory. They then welcome Bowling Green on Saturday.
