Chuck Martin has assembled a solid recruiting class to date, however it took a big hit on Thursday night. The RedHawks lost a key verbal commitment in tight end Cole Chewins.
Chewins received a greyshirt offer from Michigan State a few weeks ago as an offensive lineman. Ever since then, Cole has been weighing his options. He recently announced on his Twitter that he would be de-committing from Miami and instead will attend Michigan State.

I wish nothing but the best for all the Miami commits! We will always be bros and you guys are going to do great things!

Chewins chose the Spartans over offers from Ball State, CMU, EMU, Kent State, and Miami.
This is a tough blow to Miami's strong recruiting class as at one time they had two tight ends committed to play at Miami and now find themselves with none. (TE Nate Vejvoda de-committed from Miami in July)
