Chuck Martin, and the Miami RedHawks class of 2016 is now sitting at three. After picking up commitments from offensive linemen Danny Godlevske, and Dalton Strunk over the last couple of weeks, Miami landed a pledge from two-star tight end Griffin Palmer on Monday evening.

Palmer, a big target at 6'6, and 215 pounds, chose the RedHawks over a scholarship offer from Illinois State. The St. Louis, Missouri native was also receiving interest from power five conference programs such as Missouri, Indiana, and Iowa, where his father played his college ball.

While his dad might have been a Hawkeye, Griffin has some family ties to the Miami program. The soon-to-be senior at De Smet Jesuit, will join his older brother and current RedHawk offensive lineman Mitchell Palmer on the MU roster.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Palmer is currently ranked as the 48th tight end, and 1,209th overall prospect in the class of 2016.
