Despite already having a commitment in hand from 2015 TE prospect Daniel Crawford, the Northern Illinois Huskies added themselves another promising young tight end to their 2015 class with Ryan Roberts.
Roberts is a much larger, more physical tight end. The 6-foot-6, 240 pound prospect has the frame to be a real threat in the Huskies' blocking game, and also possesses the athleticism to be a target in thee spread offense. Considered a top-50 TE prospect, the 3-star Roberts is also listed as a Top 20 player in the state of Michigan, per 247Sports.
Though receiving some interest from B1G schools such as Michigan State, Roberts' only other offer at the time of his commitment was from WMU. For NIU to wrap up an early commitment from such a promising piece to their future offensive endeavours is huge for Rod Carey and company.
