Josh Teachey of McDonough, Maryland is the first out of state player to verbally commit to the Toledo Rockets' class of 2015. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound wide receiver/defensive back gave his commitment to the Rockets on June 7, 2014.
Teachey chose the Rockets, his only offer, forgoing playing out the interest he was getting from Rutgers, Michigan State, Maryland, and North Carolina amongst others.
Teachey is explosive, quick off the line, changes direction well, and possesses strong hands. His ball skills matched with his superb route running make him an instant watch list player. He can line up in the slot, out of the backfield, and likely could compete as a kick and punt returner as well.
Teachey will need to make up for his lack of size. A two-way player in high school, Teachey has excellent ball skills, fighting for possession at the ball's highest point.
Teachey reminds me a lot of Bernard Reedy who recently graduated. If Teachey can make the same impact Reedy made on special teams and in the receiving game the Rockets will not only have an impact player, but also a differenc-maker on gameday.
