UMass picks up Tulane and Louisiana Tech for 2016 football schedule
The Minutemen have announced two home-and-home series with two different Louisiana schools in anticipation of their independence in FBS football. Tulane and LA Tech will play at Gillette Stadium this year, with return trips in 2022 and 2019, respectively. This still leaves a few vacancies for home games, as UMass faces Hawai'i at the end of the 2016 season, forcing UMass to lose a game due to the three BYE clause, and UConn is the only other home matchup scheduled thus far. UMass has seven road games scheduled for the 2016 season, including the last four of the season.

Ain't that a beaut. UMass could use that leg on Saturdays for sure. Caggiano is part of the 2015 recruiting class and will be in a battle for place kicking responsibilities along with kickoffs. This is good news for the Minutemen as they lost both of their only reliable big man in Maxie Esho and Cady Lalanne last season. Last year in College Station he only played 12 minutes per game after averaging 23 the year before. He averaged 4.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 2014-2015.
