Atlantic 10 Media Day is underway in Brooklyn, New York with the conference's coaches coming together in preparation for another season of quality mid-major basketball. The UMass Minutemen return some key players from last year's squad and the coaches recognized that by picking Derek Kellogg's crew to finish fourth in the conference.
VCU came in with the most votes, followed by St. Louis and LaSalle before the Minutemen. Shaka Smart's team will be an athletic group once again and with their blend of speed and talent it is no surprise the coaches like the Rams in 2013-14.
The coaches also named their first-team all-conference and all-defense selections, with UMass point guard Chaz Williams landing on both lists. This shouldn't come as much of a surprise as Williams has been one of the best players in the league since coming to Amherst from Hofstra prior to the 2011-12 season.
