The Ohio Bobcats took a tough loss at the hands of No. 20 UMass at home Wednesday night. The 'Cats looked flat for most of the night and struggled to contain the Minutemen's offense. But, one player on Ohio had a fantastic night.
JUCO transfer Maurice Ndour has been lighting up stat sheets since he stepped foot on the court earlier this season. A freakish athlete nicknamed "Natureboy" he's a lengthy stretch forward with the wingspan of a seven-footer and the skills of a shooting guard. He plays with an admirable intensity level that gets the crowd pumped. Wednesday night was no different. He finished with 16 points, six rebounds, four asists and a pair of blocks. But, his best contribution on the night wasn't something that shows up in a stat sheet.
Early in the first half the 'Cats forced a turnover and on a fast break point guard Nick Kellogg threw up an alley-oop, narrowly missing the outstretched hands of UMass' Raphiael Putney and finding a soaring Ndour who threw it down viciously and the crowed erupted in a roar as Ndour flung down from the rim. It was such an impressive dunk that it even made the SportsCenter Top 10 Wednesday night, checking in at No. 3.
The honor was well-deserved.
