2015 Western Michigan Football Recruiting: QB Jon Wassink Commits to Broncos

In early May the Western Michigan Broncos got a commitment from 2015 quarterback prospect Jon Wassink, the ninth commitment for the Broncos at the time.

Wassink, a 6-foot-2 190-pound pro-style quarterback from Grand Rapids, Michigan chose the Broncos over offers interest from Michigan and Michigan State. Ranked 3 stars (247Sports Composite), Wassink is considered a Top 25 prospect in the state of Michigan, and a solid in-state grab for P.J. Fleck's WMU Broncos.

Wassink has all the intangibles of a pro-style quarterback—strong arm, solid pocket presence, good read of the field—but he's also got an impressive resume that few prep quarterbacks can compare too. Wassink has played in two consecutive State Championship games for South Christian High School. He's also deceptively elusive, and racked up nearly 1,000 yards on the ground as a junior despite being a pocket passer.
